Up before the sun

I’m sitting outside at 7am before the sun has managed to cross the horizon.

It is 30C because there has been a northerly blowing all night, gracing us with the heat for the Australian Outback. Today is going to be a scorcher at 41C and you can tell.

All I can hear is birds.

They are everywhere.

We have Noisy Minors

And I saw a flock of galahs fly over earlier.

But most of all there are Rainbow Lorikeets – they are everywhere.

I’m not much of an early riser. I prefer to sleep into at least 8am any day, depending on how badly I slept during the night, so I don’t usually see or hear this morning chorus and I have to say that it is very noisy.

Hmm, maybe now as the sun is rising, I can sit out here, grab some breakfast and write a little more Gentle Rain before that scorching sun hits.

It is not going to be a pleasant day.

Thank goodness for our overworked air conditioner.
