Title: Road RashWarm Rain SeriesAuthor: Numnut30 Sep 2018Fandom: Thunderbirds Are Go 2015/ Thunderbirds TOSRating: TeenSummary: Virgil didn’t think, he just threw himself off the roof.Word count: 1380Spoilers & warnings: Virgil/Kayo very vaguely, Virgil!whumpAuthor’s note: This one is for @weirdburketeer because she asked 😀 It is an expansion of a n incident mentioned in Sharing the Scenery I really need to stop throwing off random lines – I find I then have to work out a way to explain them 😀 Occurs after Lug Day and before Sharing the Scenery. I hope you enjoy it 😀Disclaimer: Mine? You’ve got to be kidding. Money? Don’t have any, don’t bother. -o-o-o- The first question should have been why were they there in the first place? The answer, as always, was to save people. The difference this time was that it was a bungled train highjacking. The GDF had called them in as a last-ditch effort to save all the people on the train. The fact that Virgil was now crawling along the top of said train was unexpected at the very least. He was unsure what he was doing there himself, but somehow it all had a logical progression, despite the expletives issuing […]

Title: IgnitionPart Six of Il MagoSequel to Sotto VoceAuthor: Gumnut28-30 Sep 2018Fandom: Thunderbirds Are Go 2015/ Thunderbirds TOSRating: TeenSummary: “How can we trust him, if we don’t even know he is Virgil?”Word count: 3383Spoilers & warnings: Spoilers for Season 2 and Sotto VoceAuthor’s note: and here be the last chapter. I have started writing the epilogue, but I don’t think it will be big enough to fulfill all the feels, so there will be more Tales of Sotto Voce in the future, particularly regarding poor Scott. Thank you all for your wonderful support. I really do hope you enjoy this.Disclaimer: Mine? You’ve got to be kidding. Money? Don’t have any, don’t bother. -o-o-o- Virgil disappeared. And all his interfering holograms went with him leaving the circular room an empty shell. Scott dodged the intruder’s thrust, swinging himself around to jab her firmly in the side as he called out to his brother. “Virgil!” No answer. Hell. Grabbing the struggling woman’s arm, he attempted to bend it backwards and up to immobilise her, but she either had an extremely high threshold for pain or didn’t feel it at all. Kicking out she tripped him mid-air, flipping him bodily over her and […]
Written for a friend for fun 😀 Thought I would share the fun with all incriminating names removed 😀 Enjoy. She dashed around the corner, the glass of ice cold water in her hand, heading for the pool. She didn’t see him, he didn’t see her. The result was a collision and a lot of freezing cold water splashed all over steaming hot skin. Virgil yelped scrambling backwards, she stumbled desperately trying to catch the glass before it fell. It was a juggle, but she managed it. But then situation stabilised, she now had to look up at a pair of shocked brown eyes. Of course, for her gaze to get to those eyes, they had to pass over a wet, goose-pimpling waistline, a nice sprinkling of dark chest hair, and a mouth that didn’t know whether to smirk or grimace. His brow furrowed. “Oh, god, Virgil, I’m so sorry.” She needed a towel. A towel, I need a towel, stat! And, of course, at that very moment, Gordon chose to wander past. His brown eyes hit her, then Virgil, eyed his brother up and down, arched an eyebrow at her and, without saying a thing that didn’t involve body […]
Virgil levitated back into the pulsing white, hovering in front of the Magician like an avenging angel. Mago took a step backwards, his movement dragging the chain he had tied to Eos. He simply raised an eyebrow. “A bit showy, don’t you think?” “Get out.” “No, I still have some unfinished business.” He shrugged nonchalantly. “And I still have some cards to play.” A smirk. “How many brothers do you have to spare?” -o-o-o-
I was just reading a fic about Scott remembering his mother combing his hair (gorgeous fic – go read). I was typing a raving review for it when something struck me sideways – these kind of things sometimes do. The following isn’t relevant to anyone but me, really, but I thought I would record the moment anyway. My parents split when I was six. My mother walked out with various reasonable reasons and left us kids (ages 6, 5 and 3 years) with my father. We had contact for about a year, but then she disappeared from our lives, for about ten years. So I grew up minus a mother. Now the thing that struck me was about that fic was the fond memories that Scott had of his mother. She died, mine left. He was older, I was younger. There are a bazillion differences, but the one thing that suddenly struck me was that I have no fond memories of my mother at all. None. Yes, I remember her brushing my hair. I hated it. She was rough and it pulled and hurt. There was the vague time when we found Christmas presents under our parent’s bed. There were […]
Virgil disappeared. And all his interfering holograms went with him leaving the circular room an empty shell. Scott dodged her thrust, swinging himself around to jab her firmly in the side as he called out to his brother. “Virgil!” No answer. Hell. Grabbing the struggling woman’s arm, he attempted to bend it backwards and up to immobilise her, but the woman either had an extremely high threshold for pain or didn’t feel it at all. Kicking out she tripped him mid-air, flipping him bodily over her and almost reversing their positions. Scott twisted enough to bring up a fist and slammed it into the side of her head. She lost her balance and fell sideways into one of the walls. He grabbed the opportunity. Never afraid to back down from a superior opponent, Scott slammed open the inner airlock and pushed himself through, fighting against the brief decompression of the connecting corridor. He struggled to turn as fast as possible and shut it in her face. He whipped out his laser cutter, altered its setting, and sealed the hatch shut. It wouldn’t hold her for long, but hopefully it would be long enough. Slapping the atmosphere regulator at the other […]
Title: OnePart Four of Il MagoSequel to Sotto VoceAuthor: Gumnut24-28 Sep 2018Fandom: Thunderbirds Are Go 2015/ Thunderbirds TOSRating: TeenSummary: “How can we trust him, if we don’t even know he is Virgil?”Word count: 1714Spoilers & warnings: Spoilers for Season 2 and Sotto Voce. Author’s note: This one is shorter than usual, but it called for a cut there. We have almost made it. One more chapter and possibly an epilogue and this fic will be complete 😀 I think it is time for Virgil to kick some butt.Disclaimer: Mine? You’ve got to be kidding. Money? Don’t have any, don’t bother. -o-o-o- They cut a hole in the number five of Thunderbird Five’s forward identification panel. The artist in Virgil was offended, but then cutting anywhere into any Thunderbird would likely cause the same reaction. It was obviously the first step in a two-part boarding operation. First, they would need to get through the hull. That would give them access to Thunderbird Three’s docking port. The doors between the main body of the command module would be their next target. And damn they were moving fast. He flinched as sensors were cut and circuitry short circuited under their cutting beams. His brothers […]
The sound of a single shot, echoed by laughter. The small shudder of his body, the sharp exhalation of his breath in her ear, the lack of any other sound as he held her, made her decision for her. Years of anxiety, of secrets, of regret and pain…a choice she had been running from was made. And under the terror and fear for the man desperately attempting to loosen her bonds, her course was set. “Virgil?” Her voice came out weak. He didn’t look at her, his lips tight. “We have to go.” There was another sharp retort from overhead and this time he did gasp, staggering a step into her space as his body took the impact. “Virgil!” But her hands were suddenly free, and they were moving. He stumbled at first, but then something solidified in his expression and they dove for cover. The next retort missed them completely. The figure far above swore. But as she touched her brother in the shadows, gently moving him behind her, she took the stolen gun from his trembling hands and lowered him to the ground. Her decision was made. The engineer attempted to grab it back. “No!” She only had […]
I was looking at my phone while sitting in the audience of my daughters’ school end of year concert when I discovered the prompt. I scribbled down the beginnings of this but had to stop as the production started. So here I am at 11.30pm four hours later with the scene complete. I hope you enjoy it 😀 Oh, and in other news…I’m now on leave from work for four weeks! So with a bit of luck, I might have some more time to write – still have to run the business, do my tax, make jewellery, I have a new website to design, a presentation to build, another website to overhaul, and a booklet to layout and design to go with that presentation, plus a house to spring clean and a holiday away to prepare for, but hey, time off work!!! vegetacide: incorrectthunderbirdsquotes: Virgil: The sun’s almost perfect for hero lighting. Virgil: I should do some push-ups. Yes! @vegetacide The sun had hit that angle in the late afternoon where it gold plated everything. Kayo nursed her glass of water and wandered out onto the balcony, taking a moment to just enjoy the scenery and breathe in the fresh air of the approaching evening. Birds and the distant roar of the ocean were the only sounds on the breeze. Except for…she took a further step out…grunting? And there beneath on the patio was Virgil, exercising. Two hands on the concrete, shoulders flexing in that same golden light as he forced his body into a series of energetic push-ups. (TBC) Continued here 😀
Title: Lug DayWarm Rain SeriesAuthor: Numnut26 Sep 2018Fandom: Thunderbirds Are Go 2015/ Thunderbirds TOSRating: TeenSummary: What the hell was Scott thinking? Word count: 1084Spoilers & warnings: Virgil/Kayo <—-Yes, look, I admitted it!Author’s note: This is not my normal fare. I’ve been coerced! Well, not really, I only do what I want, so I’m really the only one to blame. But you know who you are ::glares at those responsible:: Corrupting Nutty, I don’t know, what am I going to do…oh, yeah, write fic apparently. Anyway, this is little more than a scene, but I’ve decided to package these little fics (which can only remain little until I get my other major fic finished or I will fall off the rails) into a series which I have called the Warm Rain Series (after the first scenes which can be found here and here). This one is placed far before the first two, so is basically kinda backstory, but I have further fic planned in the back of my head due to multiple queries from the above mentioned inspirators – @the-lady-razorsharp @vegetacide @kylorr81 @scribbles97 @weirdburketeer Oh and if you think this scene is anything like the previous one, guess what, you’re wrong 😀 […]
I love beaches. I swim like a stone, but beaches are one of my favourite places, preferably empty ones. This is Daly Head on the Yorke Peninsula (a peninsula you will get used to hearing about because I love it there). This beach is 284 kms from where I live (an extended day trip) and it is gorgeous. I have this vague idea of attempting to photograph every beach in South Australia. I’m called Nutty for a reason. Nutty (Posting from bed because I have these photos at hand 😁 Yes, I’m a dork, and damnit, now I have to get up and go to work ::pouts:: Wanna go to beach 😁 )
Meanwhile, aboard TB5: Virgil waited, pumping in air quietly, bringing the pressure slowly up. The first person to emerge from the hole in the hull was dressed all in black, some kind of body armour over his spacesuit. He wore no identifying marks. Virgil channelled the video directly to his brothers, Gordon included. “Who the hell are these people?” Two more people emerged, one possibly female. The first attached a device to the airlock between the docking port and the main command module. The moment all three were clear of their ship, Virgil opened the exterior airlock. Highly pressurised air shot out the end of the docking port like a gun. One man was thrown out immediately, his body spinning into space. “One down, two to go.” He whispered over Scott’s comms. Il Mago
Look the face of a hero saving the day 😀 Virgil saves Penelope in The Perils of Penelope. This image does not belong to me, I’m just sharing the joy.
Okay, this is seriously @the-lady-razorsharp @vegetacide @kylorr81 and @weirdburketeer ‘s faults. Many years ago while I was writing in Stargate fandom, I discovered that as with all writers, professional or not, readers tend to expect a certain kind of fic from a certain kind of author. Gumnut writes generally angsty, hurt/comfort adventure, occasionally a little on the violent side, but mostly rated Teen and up. I also stick to canon mostly in the character relationships department. However it soon became clear that if Gumnut started writing any ship of any kind, there would be consequences – yes, I had readers trying to tell me what I was going to write, what I could and couldn’t do, etc – which was fine for the passion it illustrated, but, well, no-one tells Nutty what she can and can’t do, I’m too much of a stubborn cow (and obviously like to write about myself in the third person ::rolls eyes:: ). So, Numnut was born. Heads up, if you see me signing off a fic as ‘By Numnut’, expect the unexpected. Canon rules don’t apply (well, some of them), there may be Not Safe For Work, there may be ship, there has even been some […]
I would love to write, but I’m too tired. so I’m going to go to bed and soak in someone else’s writing 😀 Gotta love fan fiction, sharing the joy 😀 Okay, I wrote the above, then switched windows and wrote the below. I have no idea how my muse works, I’m just along for the ride ::headdesk:: @vegetacide and @the-lady-razorsharp may have something to do with it. ::eyes them suspiciously:: Rating heading in the Mature direction. From here. She listened to his heart. The slow thump of life with its accompaniment of breath moving in and out. He often got like this after a mission gone bad. He seemed to need to reconnect with the planet, commiserate with the waves far below, lose the pain to the rocks beneath his feet. She often left him there, staring out to sea, knowing there was nothing she could give him. Knowing that he needed these moments to himself. It didn’t stop her from worrying about him. But that was part of loving Virgil Tracy. It came with the territory. The rain was warm, but she shivered against him, and it wasn’t long before he made the sacrifice to take her inside. […]

Discussions of suicide.Author’s note: This was painful to write. Between work snagging me, a day of ugh in there somewhere and five brothers who blew up in my face, it was a challenge. At this point I’m ready to throw my hands up over it and just let it out regardless. I’ve been staring at it far too long. I hope you find some enjoyment in it. I warn you, the angst meter exploded about halfway through the fic. I think I even managed to whump myself. ::wails:: Many thanks to @vegetacide who answered my frantic call despite the hour and helped me correct the flow of the fic and reassured me that I was doing okay 😀 (Thankyou International Writer Rescue :D)Disclaimer: Mine? This is the first half of Two. This is hurting to write, so I thought I would share the pain. Sorry, guys. That and it seems like I haven’t posted decent fic in ages. So still WIP, but worth reading, I hope. ::cries at what I have done to the brothers:: I think this is rock bottom – I think I wanna cry 🙁 Warnings: Spoilers for S2, Sotto Voce. Discussion of suicide. -o-o-o- Virgil! Her scream shot through his mind like a bullet from a gun and suddenly she was everywhere. He was breathing in the material of her dress, his hair was aflame with her anger, his ears rung with her screams. No! you can’t have him! There was light, searing light, red hair, pale skin. Fire. And an inky black. It dripped between the flames and where it touched him, it burned. God, it burned. He struggled pulling backwards, but there was nowhere to go. There was no way out. Eos screamed his name again. And eyes so green, so like her father’s, flashed in front of him, her expression one of pure terror. Virgil, no! And he was being pulled forward. He was being pulled out. The light was blinding. NO! YOU CAN’T! A blanket of roaring sound washed over him, taking all thought, taking everything. He stumbled, a kiss brushed his cheek, and his world burst into flame. He burned. Everything burned. A wind tore around him and whipped up all the darkness, wrapping it in white fire. It spun into a whirlwind, its ferocity shredding all before it as it tore away into the whiteness. Virgil blinked and […]
This is my 100th post on this blog. 21 Jul 2018 saw the first entry – my first Thunderbirds Fic. Here I am two months later, currently working on my tenth fic 😀 You can find a complete list of the fic on this blog here. There are approximately 84,000 words of Thunderbirds fanfic (written 16 Jul – 20 Sep 2018) amongst my occasional rambles – with more to come. This is quite an achievement for me, particularly how much of the fic has been completed, and a clear indicator of how different I am now to what I was when I was writing ten years ago (a glance at my sixty-six FF.net stories will give you an idea of how much shorter my fics used to be). It has been a fabulous ride so far. I’ve met all you wonderful people and this has turned out to be a lovely corner of fandom to play in. Thank you so much for all being so welcoming and kind ::huggles you all:: Your support has been fabulous and forever proof that art is a journey best shared, no matter what the medium. And apologies to Virgil for what I have put him […]
